Clackamas Community College (CCC) seeks to hire a part-time World Language Tutor -French Tutor position. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • To assist students with their Foreign Language assignments and practice.

  • Individually and in small groups, inside or outside the classroom, help students understand and complete their assignments without supplying them with the answers.

  • Conduct simple conversations with students in the target language.

AUXILIARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • May provide assistance to other department personnel as workload and staffing levels dictate. Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly manner.

  • Sufficient knowledge of the target language as determined by the instructor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF POSITION:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, communicate, reach, and manipulate objects. The position requires mobility, including the use of step stools in order to retrieve archived materials. Duties may involve moving materials weighing up to 25 pounds on a regular basis such as papers, files, boxes, equipment, computers, etc., and rarely requires moving materials weighing over 25 pounds. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 50% of the work period while operating equipment such as computer keyboard, monitor, projector, calculator, printer, and standard office equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Days and evenings, classrooms, labs, student lounge areas, or other setting as appropriate, working with one or multiple students.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervision of other personnel is not a typical function assigned to this position.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Works under the general direction of the Department Chair.
