Nature of Work

The Colorado School of Public Health (ColoradoSPH) is a unique and collaborative graduate school that combines the collective expertise of three Colorado universities: The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus (CU Anschutz) in Aurora, Colorado State University (CSU) in Fort Collins, and the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) in Greeley, Colorado. The Senior Statistician reports to the Communities Organizing for Prevention (COFP) Evaluation Principal Investigator (PI). The Senior Statistician is responsible for leading advanced analysis of all secondary outcome’s datasets primary process evaluation datasets and supporting the interpretation of findings to state and community partners. The COFP Evaluation project is an academic-state-community partnership in Colorado that supports communities in implementing evidence-based policies, strategies, and programs to reduce risks and increase protection for youth. The overarching goal it to reduce substance misuse and violence and improve mental health among Colorado’s youth. The evaluation assesses outcomes and process data to inform impact and quality improvement of the overarching project implementation.

Examples of Work Performed  

  • Support the development of an evaluation plan, including methods and measures.
  • Support evaluation method administration to maintain evaluation rigor.
  • Lead the analysis of outcomes and process evaluation data.
  • Guide interpretation of findings of outcomes and process data analyses.
  • Attend as-needed meetings and/or calls to discuss evaluation progress and advise on methodological and analytic rigor.
  • Contribute to manuscript and conference presentation preparations.


Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this working PERA retiree position has been established at $40 - $50 per hour.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Qualifications

 

Minimum Requirements

  • A doctoral degree in public health, geography, social sciences, statistics or mathematics, or a directly related field from an accredited institution
  • Substitution: A combination of education and related professional experience may be substituted for the doctoral degree on a year for year basis.
  • The position requires extensive and diverse experience in statistical analysis, including direct responsibility in advanced analyses of secondary and primary datasets. It also requires the skills necessary to demonstrate competence on a community-based participatory research project.
  • Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire

Preferred Requirements

  • 15 years of experience conducting advanced statistical analysis of secondary and primary datasets.
  • Cultural competency and experience working in low-income and/or communities of color.
  • Experience interpreting data analyses to community partners.
