Position Summary:
Operate wide format printer including preflight and preparation of print files using desktop design software to effectively print on various substrates. Understand and maintain knowledge of specific substrates, technology, and print processes to effectively print various applications. Effectively operate sign router to produce office and building signs while applying industry and campus standards. Meet with campus customers to perform site surveys to record and document job specifications and process jobs through production.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work independently and effectively operating wide format printer and Router, to produce high-quality prints on various substrates. Read and understand job tickets. Prepare, size, and troubleshoot files for print. Maintain current knowledge of industry standards and workflow
  • Operate sign router to manufacture ADA signage.
  • Meet with internal CSR and external customers on-site to present the best options for job requirements, capture job specifications, and accurate field measurements for project planning. Work with internal CSR to write up the job.
  • Understand substrates and applications related to wide-format printing methods and sign-making.
  • Develop and maintain effective and efficient workflow to maximize output and productivity.
  • Understand and perform operator maintenance of related equipment, and maintain adequate supplies of raw materials. Perform finishing operations related to wide format printing and sign making, including mounting to various substrates, cutting and laminating, and installation of the final product.
  • Use computer-assisted design software and sign router software to design, layout, and fabricate campus directional, safety, and informational signs including Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) signs. Operate computer-directed sign-cutting machines to fabricate final products and inspect completed work for conformance with drawings, specifications, and compliance with applicable codes and regulations. Install signs as needed in compliance with sign standards

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, college degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of computer-directed programs related to wide format and sign-making.
  • Knowledge of wide format printing and finishing.
  • Knowledge of sign-making and related processes.
  • Perform job consultation to present the best application for customer needs.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2-5 years wide format digital printing
  • 1 year of router operation experience

Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours:
Ability to lift 50 lbs. Occasional mandatory overtime, and exposure to loud machinery.
comfortable with working on 4’ ladder.
