Job Summary/Description
Updates and supports ASU web-based and mobile services and facilitates the contributions of the campus-wide content community. Assists with user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) development of ASU websites, web-based applications, and mobile apps. Administers content management systems.
Typical Duties/Job Duties
  • Assists with developing and maintaining websites, web-based applications, and mobile applications with adherence to University standards, accessibility requirements, web design and user experience best practices.
  • Assists with testing of existing and future web services to ensure they are compliant with web standards and best practices, are accessible to a variety of users and devices, and are compliant with communication and marketing standards.
  • Administers web content management system (CMS), including training and user maintenance. Develop class materials, coordinate, and conduct training classes for CMS users. Provide follow-up support for CMS users.
  • Set up, review, and monitor website analytics, web governance, SEO software, quality assurance, and accessibility compliance reports. Conduct remediation of identified issues and report on status. Work with team to identify methods and/or processes to prevent similar issues in the future.
  • Assists with configuration of Adobe Sign services including adding users to the appropriate groups in the admin portal, implementation of Adobe Sign forms for campus departments, tracking and managing transaction reports, failures, cancellations, etc.
  • Leverage common software tools, i.e. ticketing and project management software, to follow request, incident, change management, project management and time tracking processes. Provide updates to associated tickets and projects to keep both customers and team members informed of current status or progress. Assist with team responsibility of queue management and ensure tickets are resolved accurately, timely and according to priority.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Position is on-site only and not a remote eligible position.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Knowledge of web standards, work flow processes, technology trends, online marketing concepts, and website design best practices
    • Knowledge of the use of a web content management system
    • Knowledge of cross-browser/platform compatibility issues.
    • Knowledge of AdobeSign management
    • Skilled in front-end web technologies: HTML, CSS, Javascript.
    • Skilled in interpersonal relations and analytical problem solving. Communication skills with ability to express technical terminology in a manner that makes it understandable to end users with a variety of technical and non-technical backgrounds.
    • Ability to analyze web traffic data and prepare reports highlighting key information and trends and opportunities.
    • Ability to research new technology items and to learn new technologies
    • Ability to communicate effectively when working with customers and team members.
    • Ability to effectively analyze situations and develop suitable solutions.
    • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change in procedures and priorities.
    • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
    Minimum Qualifications
    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, M.I.S. or related field required. Additional experience in the support of a networked desktop/application environment may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis. Additional consideration may be given to candidates with specific technical certifications related to systems applicable to Angelo State University. Job title of Web Support Specialist I, II, or III along with salary will depend on the applicant’s qualifications.
    Preferred Qualifications
    Experience with website development and management in a high-volume production environment preferred.
