Functions as a Web Development Consultant and senior contributor for complex software applications, initiatives and projects in the Cancer IT Applications team within the Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Duties Include:

  • Develops, implements, tests, and maintains custom software solutions providing user interfaces to new or existing databases

  • Leads select software development projects through database design, programming and system testing (e.g. large scale web applications for the Cancer Program)

  • Recommends appropriate alternatives and/or enhancements to current systems

  • Participates in team approach to technical mentoring and guidance for less experienced staff

  • Develops web based architecture as it relates to the strategic goals of the Cancer Program and provides direction on evaluation and design of systems

  • Provides customer support for the Cancer Program community

  • Work with end users to gather and understand business requirements

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in computer & information science or equivalent combination of education & experience

  • 4 years of related experience required, 4-8 years preferred, to include experience in web development utilizing Microsoft ASP.NET/C#/MVC, MS-SQL Server, jQuery, JSON, IIS

  • Experience with HTML, JavaScript, Bootstrap, JQuery, CSS & other web related tools, platforms, and frameworks required

  • Familiarity with JavaScript front-end frameworks (React.js, Angular), KendoUI controls, an ORM such as Entity Framework and dependency injection, and with cloud-based software solutions hosting (Azure, AWS) desired

  • Experience with Agile methodology desired

  • Requires successful completion of a background check; selected candidate may be requested to completed a pre-employment physical including a drug screen
