To thrive in this role, you must know how to design, develop, and maintain responsive websites and web applications. You must collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring creative ideas to life. You must have experience to implement best practices in coding, security, and performance optimization. Also, you must ensure seamless integration with various web platforms and technologies and stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.

Minimum Qualifications:

- A bachelor's degree in a related field discipline or equivalent experience

- Two years of experience working in web design, development, and/or maintenance

- A technical skill set that includes knowledge about accessibility, e.g., Section 508, WCAG, ARIA preferred
- Technical writing skills are preferred
- Proficient programmer skills Javascript, HTML5, CSS, SQL. Webpack, Node, Bootstrap, and jQuery Frameworks preferred
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn Perl, XSLT, XML is necessary to work with the UAS website preferred
- Well-rounded communication skills and ability to present complex information to small and/or medium-sized groups preferred
- Experience with Adobe XD, user navigation, prototyping, and testing skills preferred
- Basic graphic design experience preferred.
- Progressively responsible experience in programming is preferred
- Experience working successfully with people of diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds is preferred

Position Details:

This position is located on the Juneau campus at the University of Alaska Southeast. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and a full employee benefits package . UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental, and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule , Grade 78, based on education and experience.
