Web Design and Development Intern, National Robotics Engineering Center

We are looking for a motivated, self-starter to be a member of our dynamic team as a website design and developer intern for this summer (2024). In this position, you will engage with the business development & marketing team on standard methodologies in website migration, effective design and functionality as we move our website to a new environment and new host server.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Provide analysis and recommendations on website hosting system/companies, comparing various aspects such as security features, monthly or yearly costs, software updates, support availability, design elements, limitations, etc.
  • Migrate all website content from existing host to new server in alignment with ADA compliance and standards.
  • Recommend and pitch improvements to new and existing features on the NREC website.
  • Ensure Google Analytics code is installed and aggregating data accurately.
  • Participate in conception, design, development, implementation, and deployment of web-based user interface systems (as needed).
  • Generate ideas on how to improve NREC’s image and branding.
  • Assist in fixing bugs or issues that may arise.
  • Develop user manual and effective how-to’s for various actions in website maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing Bachelor’s (second year or later) or Master’s degree in multimedia, design, graphic design, marketing or related field
  • 1-3 yrs. – website design or development experience
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Experience with a web development software such as Wordpress, Drupal, Cascade, etc.
