Department Summary
The Marketing and Communications Team is responsible for telling the story of the Division of Student Affairs and its departments to external and internal audiences through digital and print assets including social media, videos, ads, articles, brochures, emails, flyers, newsletters, posters, and websites.
Position Overview
The Web Content Coordinator helps the Division of Student Affairs enhance the UNT student experience by sharing our story and providing the best user experience online for our division. This position will primarily be working on the DSA website and corresponding department websites. Assists departments throughout the division with web related requests and initiatives by user end support, research, web testing tools and consulting on best practices.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in related field and two years of experience in writing and/or editing publications; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Ability to conceptualize, write and edit, accurate and concise content for university audiences.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, conduct multiple tasks and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to visually inspect print and online copy when self-editing or editing the copy of others.
• Works effectively within a team and effectively works closely with other staff, faculty, and students toward a common goal.
• Knowledge of how to contact sources and ability to conduct interviews and take accurate notes.
• Knowledge of spelling, grammar, punctuation and Associated Press and Chicago Manual styles.
• Knowledge of writing guidelines for various media and ability to create unique copy for each format (print, online, broadcast).
• Understanding of institutional strategy (or ability to quickly assimilate) and ability to integrate the strategy into modes of communication.
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities for to web-based positions include knowledge of content management, editing software, CSS & HTML, cross-browser testing and manipulation of page display for mobile devices. Ability to adhere to ADA Compliance. Ability to produce professional web site design prototypes. Ability to organize broad information from numerous sources into cohesive, usable and effective navigation for the web. Ability to check web sites for accuracy, functionality and spelling before sites are published. Ability to translate documents, requirements and/or wireframes into professionally designed, fully functional web properties.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred candidate will have experience with Adobe Creative Suite, content management, and Drupal.

Job Duties


o
Create, coordinate, and distribute content for websites
o
Collaborate with departments and people across campus to develop content and communicate DSA procedures and capabilities
o
Monitor website tools like SiteImprove and Google Analytics to help enhance the site
o
Work with the marketing team in creating news posts, calendar updates, event posts, resources with webforms, and various new page developments
o
Establish and monitor metrics for digital content effectiveness and distribute metric reports
o
Identify new digital tools and tactics to help tell the DSA and Departmental stories
o
Provide consultation on best practices and enforcement of policy compliance with accessibility, mobile responsivity, web file management, and image optimization
o
Develop and enforce strategies, policies and standards for digital content creation and management for departments across the division
o
Signify and integrate key web elements in need for better user experience with interactive content, social media integration, web graphic design, and navigation
