Position Summary
The term Graduate Assistant is the umbrella term that encompasses all types of GA appointments. Graduate Assistants are employed by the University to teach, conduct research, or assist with administrative duties in departments and non-academic units. Every attempt is made to assign Graduate Assistants to positions that are directly related to the student’s field of study or that provide the opportunity to develop transferable, professional skills. Graduate Assistantships are assigned in the department or unit and confirmed by the Graduate School.

The Web Content Coordinator is responsible for updating content and design for the UNCG Graduate School website. The role requires strong content management system (CMS) skills and collaborates with our IT and Communications teams to plan and develop site content that is current, accurate, relevant and engaging for targeted audiences.
The position requires a highly motivated, deadline-oriented creative collaborator and multitasker with a basic understanding of best practices regarding web content and accessibility. Prior experience with digital content production, content proofing and editing, UI/UX concepts, and general web design disciplines are preferred.

This position reports directly to the Business Analyst within the Graduate School.
Job Description-Job Duties and/or Responsibilities :
Responsible for updating and maintaining web content using Wordpress to ensure quality control of visuals and copy; ensure published content aligns to brand styles and standards.
Assist with the planning, creation of content, and implementation of content for the Graduate School website
Must be able to work independently and with attention to data and privacy measures following proper training from supervisor. 
Provide campus tours to perspective graduate applicants and newly admitted graduate students. 
Complete special projects and other duties as assigned. 
Work Hours/Environment :
Graduate Assistants work 20 hours per week for the Graduate School and are provided their own workspace within the office. Graduate Assistants are provided a $16,000 stipend (August 1-April 30) with the opportunity to work during summer for additional stipend. Tuition support is provided as part of the assistantship. 
Minimum Qualifications
To be eligible for appointments as a graduate assistant, you must:
• Maintain academic good standing at all times (3.0).
• Be enrolled full-time, which is generally a minimum of 9 credits.
• Make satisfactory progress toward your degree as defined by your academic program and the Graduate School.
• Meet the requirements to be eligible for employment in the U.S.
Additional Minimum Qualifications
Experience working with digital assets and processes (web, blog)
Good organization and attention to detail
Previous experience with Wordpress or similar platforms like Squarespace, Wix, Hubspot, Shopify, etc.
Working knowledge of Adobe and Microsoft 365 software and applications
Graphic design experience is a bonus but not required
