Salary Range: $4,372 - $10,792/Monthly
Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Some weekends may be required; exempt classification.
Essential Functions: Working independently under the general supervision of the Director of enterprise applications in Information Technology Services (ITS), the incumbent develops solutions and provides technical support for web and mobile technology applications supported by ITS. The incumbent programs and develops scripts, web services, API and other integration points to extend functionality and integrate 3rd party applications with Enterprise Systems, such as PeopleSoft, GETMobile, Dell Boomi, in support of students, faculty and staff members. Responsibilities include creating, maintaining, testing and debugging the Enterprise Applications for core application logic, data and application integration, API, and other back-end systems. The scope of the duties includes developing solution options in collaboration with the campus and vendor systems architects, integrating technical systems, developing automated tests, learning programmatic and web APIs, preparing reports and recommendations, collaborating with technical and non-technical staff, and reviewing code ensuring security best-practices are followed. The incumbent in this position will possess the ability to put theory into practice with an in-depth understanding of Web application technologies and can demonstrate proficiency in many aspects of the Web Development Lifecycle including how to mitigate common security concerns and risks. The incumbent will independently perform the full range of responsibilities within the Web application development field where analysis requires evaluation and professional judgment in selecting methods and techniques for realizing solutions and resolving non-routine problems. The incumbent develops, recommends, and implements programmatic solutions to business needs while working with other developers, DBA, customers, functional staff, and stakeholders at all levels of the University; interacts with programmatic and web APIs, including RESTful and SOAP web services. Triages web service and mobile integration issues using tools, such as SOAP UI or other web browser developer tools; applies Assistive Technology best practices and methodologies in developing web and mobile contents; assist Enterprise Applications in conforming to the latest WCAG standards; provides technical and systems administration support for coordination and configuration of various systems including web servers, mobile platform and other Web-based or cloud applications; interacts with vendors and other stakeholders for systems and consulting resources to ensure successful implementation of new applications, effective support for current operations, and identify proposed IT system evolution to new releases and/ or product mixes; assists in quality assurance testing related to system patches, releases, and upgrades to the development and testing environments; and coordinates with and maintain a positive working relationship with other information technology resources on campus and at other CSU campuses to best serve the changing campus technology needs.
Required Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree in computer science or business from a four-year accredited college or university, or equivalent training and applied experience. The incumbent must have four years of related work experience supporting an IT department or division; and with the following software applications: MS Windows, MS Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook Web Applications (OWA), SharePoint, Visio and Outlook. The incumbent must have an understanding of Android or iOS mobile developer tools Understanding of CSS, HTML, and when to use client or server-side rendering; of WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 standards; proficiency in SQL writing in one or more of the following: Oracle Database, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, SQLite; and of the Software Development Lifecycle Knowledge of Web development security best practices. The incumbent must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. The incumbent must also have the ability to schedule and prioritize in order to meet deadlines; to work independently with minimal supervision; to work effectively as part of a team and to give and receive constructive feedback; to draft and deliver technical processes, reports, presentations, and correspondence; and must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability to work in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered.
Desired Qualifications: Experience working in higher education and knowledge of Enterprise Applications system, such as PeopleSoft, SAP, or Banner.
