The Office of Information Technology has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) Web Application Developer position.

We are looking for a full-time, full-stack web application developer to design, develop, and maintain web applications that integrate with the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS). A successful candidate will be a problem solver with an inquisitive and innovative mind that consistently looks for opportunities to learn.

Here are some examples of what we need help with:

  • Collaborating directly with the Canvas LMS administrators to create, maintain, and extend the tools used with the system.
  • New development, re-design or re-development of existing software and support for existing software.
  • Review requirements, estimate the level of effort on tasks, and deliver quality results within expected timelines.
  • Create documentation.
  • Provide production support for software.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience developing with a JavaScript Framework.
  • Experience developing ASP.NET C# applications.
  • Experience working with SQL databases.
  • Experience working with REST or Graph APIs.
  • Knowledge of software best practices regarding security, OAuth2, and session management.
  • Understanding of agile development processes.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills working with non-technical users and stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
 

Qualifications

 

We also have a few Minimum Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree.
    • Substitution: A combination of related work experience in the areas listed above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the bachelor’s degree.  The other minimum requirements listed below can overlap with this experience.
  • 1+ years professional web development experience working with HTML, CSS & JavaScript
  • 1+ years professional application development experience working with technologies such as .NET Core, NodeJS, MVC, C#, React, etc.

Required: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

And would love to see these additional qualifications, but they are not required:

  • Higher education experience

Conditions of Employment:

This position may require some occasional weekend and evening assignments as well as occasional availability during off-hours for participation in both scheduled and unscheduled activities.

This position is eligible for a hybrid of on-site and locally remote working locations. The work schedule will be based around core working hours in Colorado Mountain Time.

Must be willing and able to travel between campuses (Denver Campus and Anschutz Medical Campus)

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range ) for this position has been established at $55,209 to $70,000.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
