Job Description

Arizona State University is seeking an experienced developer to work as a Senior Application Developer across Microsoft Power Platform, Power Apps, Dataverse and SharePoint Online. This position is within ASU’s Knowledge Enterprise, Research Technology Development.
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Technical Lead to join our Power Platform team. The successful candidate will have technical expertise across Microsoft Power Platform and Dataverse Solutions, with demonstrated experience developing model power apps and custom canvas power apps solutions.
In this role, you will collaborate with the Project Manager, Business Analysts, and mentor junior team members as the Technical Lead across all Power Apps, Automations, and SharePoint dependencies operational areas. You will be responsible for supporting complex client requirements and demonstrating proven experience with application lifecycle management in practice. Strong communication and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to adapt to new technologies and processes, are essential for this role.
You will also have expertise using DevOps and modern build practices, including dev, test, prod pipelines in DevOps supporting modern Power Apps solutions. A strong sense of accountability and professionalism is essential for this role as you will be working with clients and development team partners to plan, design, develop, and ensure the quality of projects. The Senior Application Developer will collaborate with BAs and PMs, as well as clients, to translate business requirements into work breakdowns for new projects, bug fixes, and feature improvements.
Experience with Dataverse, SQL DBs, APIs, and programming languages such as Power FX, JSON, Javascript, C#, .NET, SQL, and Python is required. Expertise with Visual Studio IDE and power shell is also required. Experience with modern cloud data architecture in Azure, including Azure SQL DB, Data Factory, and data security/permissions in a 365 and Active Directory environment, is a plus.
In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, the Senior Applications Developer will be responsible for continuously refining best practices and infrastructure to ensure the success of our Power Platform team. Providing best-in-class customer service via hybrid and remote working environments is also a key aspect of this role.

Essential Duties

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree Information Technology, Computer Science or closely related. 5 years web, graphic design and database including creating and updating table structures and views as well as CSS development; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.


Desired Qualifications

  • Evidence of a Microsoft Power Platform development certification is highly desirable.
  • Experience with modern cloud data architecture in Azure, including Azure SQL DB, Data Factory and data security/permissions in a 365, Active Directory environment.
