Organizational Unit Overview
Information Technology and Computing Services (ITCS) is the central agency that supports enterprise-wide computing at East Carolina University. ITCS, through innovative information technology initiatives and service, provides opportunities for the ECU community to excel in teaching, research, and service using state-of-the-market technology and collaborative environments. ITCS is first and foremost committed to providing excellent information technology support for faculty, staff, and students. ITCS partners with campus departments, other universities, and industry to make strategic investments in information technology infrastructure that will help maintain a competitive advantage in administrative applications, faculty research, and outreach to the state and nation. We will achieve this through increasing the core functions and deploying appropriate technology throughout the university.
EIS is the team responsible for the development and maintenance of administrative computer applications including support of the ERP system (Banner), public website, institutional document
imaging, and the institutional portal, PiratePort.
The New Technology Development Group (NTDG) is the team responsible for the development and
maintenance of web applications made available to campus via the institutional portal, PiratePort.
Job Duties
As a senior full-stack web application developer on the New Technologies Development Group (NTDG), this position’s primary responsibilities will be to develop, maintain, and troubleshoot a variety of enterprise-wide internet applications housed in the University’s web portal. Portal applications at ECU span the entire university and help Faculty, Staff, and Students carry out administrative tasks.
This position functions as a top-level technical contributor on projects and is responsible for meeting with management to define and design applications as well as providing technical consultation and training to team members, project leaders, managers, departments, faculty, and related university personnel and organizations. This position also serves in a project management support role for projects assigned to the team.
Other job duties include systems analysis, maintenance & problem resolution, business process analysis, testing, and online documentation.
This position may be eligible for Flexible Work Arrangements (FWA) under the ECU FWA Policy.
The standard work schedule for this position will need to be adjusted to meet the position requirements, which include and are not limited to evening and weekend hours to perform scheduled and unscheduled workload requirements to maintain University operations.
Minimum Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
