RES is currently accepting applications for an Entry-Level Engineer with 1 to 3 years of experience or equivalent academic background to join a growing, multi-disciplinary team of ecosystem restoration designers and engineers currently working on the erosion and sediment control and stormwater management projects. The position will be based out of Richmond, VA. Responsibilities The candidate’s responsibilities would include, but are not limited to: Fieldwork: Geomorphic, biological, and ecological site assessments General site access and existing site reconnaissance Mitigation crediting field protocols Applied fluvial geomorphic / hydraulic survey Construction oversight Post construction monitoring Data Processing and Technical Writing: Assist with mitigation crediting calculations Basic data entry and analysis Develop project design reports Complete County & State permit applications Design: Complete drainage area delineations and stormwater calculations Develop erosion and sediment control plans Develop 3-dimensional restoration and grading designs within the AutoCAD Civil 3D environment. Assist in AutoCAD plan production to develop preliminary, final, and construction plan sets
Qualifications
Qualifications Minimum: Bachelor’s degree and 1-3+ years’ experience in a natural resources design field (such as, but not limited to, civil engineering, biological systems engineering, agricultural engineering, or water resources engineering) or a natural sciences field (such as, but not limited to, geology, geomorphology, environmental science, ecology or biology). Superior writing, communication, and computer skills (MS Word, Excel, etc.) with attention to detail. Ability to effectively focus on a variety of tasks to produce quality results within project deadlines. Ability to travel to sites as needed. Overnight stays are required occasionally. A flexible working style and the ability to work independently and with teams of specialists to meet client and project needs. Preferred: On the job experience with stream restoration, field data collection, water resources engineering, and hydraulic and hydrology investigations and / or construction oversight.
