General Statement
The School of Art seeks an art historian to provide non-tenurable instruction in one of the following topics in the field of Ancient Mediterranean, Late Antique, Medieval, and Ancient Near Eastern Studies:
  • Greek Art and Architecture
  • Roman Art and Architecture
  • Art of Egypt and the Ancient Near East
  • Late Antique/Byzantine Art and Architecture
  • Medieval Art and Architecture
  • Spanish Colonial Americas
  • Oceanic (ancient to contemporary)
  • African (ancient to contemporary)
  • China (ancient to contemporary)
  • Southeast Asia (Ancient to contemporary)

This position is open to scholars with expertise in all subfields and methodological approaches to the history of art, architecture, and related fields.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Teach two upper-level undergraduate art history course on campus.
  • Maintain regularly scheduled office hours either on campus or online.
  • Maintain and submit grades in accordance with University policy.
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
  • Ph.D. in Art History (ABD considered) with specialization in one of the areas listed in brief position overview.
  • Supervised teaching at the University level.
  • Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
  • Experience in teaching an art history course at the university level.
  • Experience in developing a syllabus and related course materials.
  • Experience in working with students from a variety of majors in the academic community.
