Visiting fellow to gain work experience and a unique growth opportunity under the guidance of Dr. Elshad Hasanov in the Division of Medical Oncology.

Introduction

Dr. Elshad Hasanov's laboratory, located within the esteemed Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology (PIIO) at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - The James, is a hub for cutting-edge oncological research. As a postdoctoral fellow in this laboratory, you’ll be immersed in a collaborative, state-of-the-art environment dedicated to understanding the complex dynamics of brain metastasis and pioneering innovative treatments.

Research Focus:

Genitourinary Malignancies & Pan-Cancer Brain Metastasis: Dr. Hasanov's lab places a pronounced emphasis on genitourinary malignancies, with a particular focus on renal cell carcinoma. Additionally, the team adopts a comprehensive, pan-cancer approach to studying brain metastasis.

Innovative Technologies: The laboratory leverages cutting-edge technologies, including single-cell RNA sequencing, DNA methodologies, spatial transcriptomics, and proteomic tools. These are crucial for in-depth exploration of the tumor immune microenvironment and the identification of new, actionable pathways.

Translational Approach: One of the lab's distinctive features is its seamless integration of wet lab investigations with clinical applications. There's a robust emphasis on translating laboratory findings into viable clinical trials, ensuring that discoveries have a tangible impact on patient care.
