Position Description:

The Department of Accounting within the Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa invites applications for one non-tenure track Visiting Faculty Position in Accounting at the level of Visiting Assistant, Associate or Full Professor starting Fall 2024. Rank will be based on experience and record of achievement. Position may range from 50% time (teaching 2 classes/year) to 100% time (teaching 4 classes/year) and includes a 1-year contract with a possibility of renewal contingent upon satisfactory performance and departmental need. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications. Appropriate background checks (e.g. criminal background and credential checks) will be conducted.

    Education Requirement:

    An earned doctorate or strong evidence that the doctoral degree will be completed before August 21, 2024.

    Required Qualifications:

    Evidence of successful teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level in accounting OR a demonstrated high level of teaching competence.


    A demonstrated potential for publishing significant research in top-tier journals.

    Desirable Qualifications:

    We particularly seek candidates who are prepared to teach upper-division accounting courses.
