POSITION SUMMARY: The Department of Molecular Biosciences (MBS) at the University of South Florida invites applications for a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor of Instruction. This will be a 9-month non-tenure earning appointment to begin August 7, 2024. This is a visiting position with the possible extension for a second and/or third year. There is no research component associated. Supplemental summer appointments may be available, depending upon the needs of the University and the availability of resources. The successful candidate will be required to revise and direct upper-level cell/genetics labs, as well as be able to teach general- and majors level courses in the Biology I, and Molecular Biology curriculum. They are also eligible to apply for permanent Assistant Professor of Instruction positions if funding is available.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience):
Minimum: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Biology or a related discipline at the time of appointment or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience that meet national and/or regional accreditation standards.
Preferred: Applicants with an appropriate background teaching courses in the area of Molecular Biology will be preferred. Experience in teaching and supervising undergraduate labs, laboratory curriculum development, and/or teaching large-enrollment courses is desirable.
