Unit Mission Statement
The mathematics program at William & Mary allows students to design a major based on their own interests and career goals and prepares students for post-baccalaureate employment and for further study of mathematical sciences and related disciplines. There are three concentrations within the major: Standard Concentration; Applied Mathematics Concentration; Pre-College Mathematics Teaching Concentration. Study options include applied and pure mathematics, operations research, and statistics. Students may also pursue a mathematics minor; and design elective programs needed for careers in actuarial science and industrial mathematics, for interdisciplinary work in fields such as economics, business and social sciences, or for graduate studies.
Position Summary
The Department of Mathematics at William & Mary, a public university of the Commonwealth of Virginia, invites applications for multiple Visiting Teaching Assistant Professor positions with a two-year appointment term that will begin on August 10, 2024.
The successful applicant is expected to be an effective teacher and will have a 3-3 teaching load. Possible course assignments include but are not limited to single- and multi-variable calculus, linear algebra, and introduction to methods of proof.

Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications: A Ph.D. or ABD in Mathematics or a closely related field at the time appointment begins (August 10, 2024).
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications: Prior teaching experience. Ability to teach any of the following courses, including, but not limited to single- and multi-variable calculus, linear algebra, and introduction to methods of proof.
