The College of Engineering & Applied Science at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor working in the Department of Biomedical Engineering in the College of Engineering and Applied Science, University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.
The College of Engineering & Applied Science (CEAS) is committed to excellence in scholarly research and teaching across all seven departments—Biomedical Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The College has approximately 1750 undergraduate students and 450 graduate students, both Master’s and Doctoral. Job Summary
Teach assigned biomedical engineering courses and participate in research to meet the objectives of the College of Engineering & Applied Science. Responsibilities are teaching lecture and laboratory courses in biomedical engineering, assisting and mentoring students to learn research skills, and doing research in the field of biomedical engineering.
  • Prepare and teach assigned course(s)
  • Fulfill curriculum and academic standards
  • Facilitate textbook selection; complete and timely submit syllabus; present lectures
  • Prepare and administer student assessments, quizzes, examinations following department, college and university standards.
  • Calculate and submit final grades
  • Advise and counsel students
  • Hold regular office hours
  • Respond to student requests for learning assistance.
  • Engage in CEAS Research and collaborate with CEAS researchers
Minimum Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in biomedical engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline
  • Teaching experience in core BME courses
Preferred Qualifications
  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas: biomedical instrumentation and devices, medical imaging, biophotonics, and smart and connected healthcare
Target Salary Range Final salary offer will be commensurate with experience.
