Bard College invites applications for a two-year visiting professor of U.S. History at the assistant level, beginning in Fall 2024. The successful candidate will be able to teach survey and advanced courses that also will be cross-listed in the American Studies program . Priority will be given to applicants specializing in historical periods before the early 20th-century. Candidates will be expected to be able to offer American history survey courses and are preferred to have completed all the requirements for the doctoral degree by August 2024.

Compensation: $70,000-$75,000, dependent on experience
This salary range reflects the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for the position at the time of the job posting. Salary decisions are dependent on several factors including but not limited to market and organizational considerations, experience, and qualifications of a selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
