The Literature and Creative Writing Department at Hamilton College invites applications for a one-year visiting position at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor, beginning July 1, 2024. 

We seek candidates to teach English literature of the 18th-century and 19th century.

The teaching load is five courses over the year, two at the introductory level. We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate their experience in teaching or working with diverse student populations. Your materials should include a statement that addresses ways in which you raise issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion in your teaching.

Candidates should have their Ph.D. in hand before July 1, 2024. The expected 9-month base salary range for this position is $74,400 to $76,900.
