Visiting Assistant Professor of Geology

The Geology Department at Whitman College is seeking candidates for a one-year position with expertise in Structural Geology, at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor, beginning August 2024. A Ph.D. is required upon starting the position. 

The successful candidate will offer courses in Structural Geology, Geophysics, Physical Geology, and an introductory course in the applicant’s area of expertise that will serve Geology and Environmental Studies majors. The standard teaching load is five courses per year. The successful candidate will have the option of participating in the department's twice yearly, 4-day Regional Geology field trips. The department values creative approaches to integrating teaching and scholarship and cultivating inclusive learning environments.

Salary Range: $65,000-$70,000
