Job Summary

The Department of Economics and Finance at Purdue University Fort Wayne (http://www.pfw.edu) invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in Economics beginning August 2024. Responsibilities include teaching a range of undergraduate courses in economics, including principles, intermediate, statistics, and upper-level economics courses with a preference for courses in applied microeconomics and macroeconomics, but open to any field. Applicants who can immediately contribute to teaching the field courses in the existing undergraduate programs offered by the department or the MBA program will have higher priority. Extensive industry experience will be considered as a plus, especially in the banking and real estate sectors. A combination of online, hybrid, and face-to-face course delivery is expected.


Qulifications

A Ph.D. or DBA with a concentration or specialization in Economics or Finance is required. ABDs will be considered if degree is in hand by August 2024. Beside teaching responsibilities, duties will include service (e.g., participating on school and university level committees) per department and university guidelines. Position is contingent upon available funding and satisfactory background check.

The Department of Economics and Finance includes eleven full-time faculty and an administrative assistant. Our mission is to advance the professional lives of our students in the areas of Economics, Finance and Data Analytics. Our department offers undergraduate degrees in Economics, Finance, and Money and Banking. Purdue Fort Wayne’s Doermer School of Business is an AACSB Internationally accredited program.
