Job Overview
The Department of Asian, East European, and German Studies at the University of Cincinnati invites applications for the position of Visiting Assistant Professor of German with expertise in applied linguistics, language pedagogy, and/or second language acquisition. Candidates with research foci in other subfields of German Studies who have significant training in or experience with language program coordination are also invited to apply.
Essential Functions
The successful candidate will teach 2 courses each in fall and spring semesters, in addition to coordinating the lower-level German language program. Coordination responsibilities include advising and placing students in first- and-second year German language courses, developing and implementing lower-level language curricula and assessments, training and supervising graduate instructors, and organizing co-curricular and outreach events.
Minimum Requirements
Must have obtained a Doctorate or terminal degree from a regionally accredited college or university of recognized standing in a field appropriate to the requirements of the position by August 2022.
