Position Details

The Communication Department within the College of Arts and Letters at The University of Tampa is seeking candidates for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor in the Communication, Media and Culture program, beginning August 2022. Teaching load is 3 courses (12 credit hours) per semester over two 15-week semesters in the 2022-23 academic year.

The ideal candidate will hold a master’s degree or Ph.D. related to the appointment and teaching/research interests primarily in cinema studies, which includes the study and production of narrative film and media. The person chosen for this position will be responsible to teach introductory courses in cinema studies (World Cinema and American Cinema) and a range of upper-level courses focused on film analysis, such as Women Directors and Documentary Tradition, new media production, and related film and media.
