General Description

The Department of Cognitive Science at Johns Hopkins University invites applications for a three-year visiting faculty position in syntax and syntactic processing. The faculty member is expected to teach courses that will align with the department's educational mission as well as mentor undergraduate Cognitive Science majors and Linguistics minors. Preference will be given to an individual who can teach advanced undergraduate and graduate courses in Theoretical Syntax and (Experimental) Language Processing as well as additional Linguistics and Psycholinguistics courses (e.g., interfaces including Morphology-Syntax, Syntax-Prosody; Acquisition of (Morpho-)Syntax, Codeswitching, Heritage Language, Neurolinguistics, etc.) as part of their teaching portfolio. The annual full-time teaching load for this position is 4 courses.

The start date for this position is July 1, 2024 or January 1, 2025, at the latest.

Qualifications

A Ph.D. is required in Linguistics or Cognitive Science and teaching experience is essential.
