Job Summary
 

The Virtual Collaboration Center Manager will oversee the daily operations, strategic planning, and overall success of the Virtual Collaboration Center(s) at Georgia Southern University.  These spaces are cutting-edge facilities that foster creativity, innovation, and collaboration among students, faculty and staff, and campus community members, while also providing a platform for gaming and esports enthusiasts.


Responsibilities
 
  • Lead, manage, and cultivate community growth at the Virtual Collaboration Center
  • Coordinate sales and marketing efforts associated with the Virtual Collaboration Center
  • Plan and organize gaming and innovation camps for different age groups
  • Develop and implement innovative programs and events to engage the community
  • Coordinate gaming tournaments and workshops
  • Ensure the smooth operation of the gaming center
  • Oversee the maintenance of gaming equipment and technology
  • Develop marketing strategies to promote the center's activities
  • Utilize social media and other channels to reach the target audience
  • Recruit, train, and manage staff members
  • Stay updated on the latest trends in gaming and technology

Required Qualifications
 

Required Experience

  • Three (3) or more years of related work experience
  • Experience in sales, understanding of sales process and dynamics, and maintaining client records

Preferred Qualifications
 

Preferred Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Experience

  • Experience using ggRock or ggLeap technology
  • Experience using gaming tournament management software and/or operating sanctioned gaming tournaments
  • Experience generating conference, camp, and outside revenue

Proposed Salary
 

 $44,400 - $50,500

This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.

ABILITIES

  • Consistently exhibit engaging customer service
  • Ability to support various constituencies served by the University
  • Proven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Google, and/or applications as required for specific position
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently as needed

KNOWLEDGE

  • Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support University's mission for student success
  • Understanding of esports and gaming culture, competitive play and fostering gaming communities
  • Familiarity with video gaming platforms, their capabilities, and their procurement
  • Familiarity with tabletop, board, and card gaming
  • Familiarity with hosting conferences, camps, and special events geared towards computer skills and virtual learning
  • Familiarity with Georgia Southern University brand identity

SKILLS

  • Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
