Virology and Bacteriology-Focused Assistant/Associate Professor in Microbiology and Immunology

The Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Michigan Medical School (https://medicine.umich.edu/dept/microbiology-immunology ) is excited to welcome applications for a tenure-track or tenured appointment at Assistant or Associate Professor level. Our ideal candidate will have a research program broadly related to virology or bacteriology and will be comfortable teaching virology or bacteriology at the undergraduate or graduate level.

The Department of Microbiology and Immunology is an inclusive community whose passion for discovery, service, leadership and sharing of knowledge addresses global microbiology and immunology challenges. Current areas of focus in the department include microbial pathogenesis, with expertise in bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic pathogens, and microbiome influences on health and disease. There is also strong expertise in both innate and adaptive immunity. The department is home to two NIH T32 training grants and has a strong teaching focus that spans graduate (PhD, MS, medical and dental students) and undergraduate instruction.
