VIDEO SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR, Office of the Vice President for Research, to perform administrative and operational functions required to manage, maintain, and support videoconferencing-equipped class and conference room systems; and set up built-in multi-camera-equipped classrooms for local and remote classes/presentations.  Responsibilities include maintaining Cisco Telepresence videoconferencing systems and Zoom-connected rooms; coordinating access and successful VTC connection utilizing Zoom with remote classrooms for classes; supporting local/remote faculty with use of systems/software in classrooms; designing and implementing hardware/software solutions to meet architectural and operational requirements; installing major releases and patch updates; preventative maintenance; resolving infrastructure incidents with Institute partners; pursuing/maintaining Cisco- and AVIXA-related certifications; building/maintaining relationships with technical staff and peers at MIT, WHOI, and local vendors; participating in product evaluations, system testing, certification, and product lifecycle management; performing optimization tuning and capacity planning for onsite video infrastructure using web-based controls; maintaining technical standards, procedures, and techniques in support of problem resolution; monitoring systems and components; developing and maintaining documentation; and other duties as requested. 


Job Requirements

REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; three years’ related experience; experience designing, installing, operating, and maintaining video conferencing hardware and software, including control, audio, video, and sound systems; proficiency with H.323, SIP, or high definition-based video conferencing; general understanding of networking concepts and technologies; experience supporting Cisco Telepresence video conferencing systems or similar H.323 systems; track record of troubleshooting complex issues and hands-on experience with video technologies; self-motivation; and excellent verbal and written communication skills.  PREFERRED: familiarity with Cisco Webex, Zoom, Crestron, Shure digital and analog systems (wired and wireless), Biamp, Canvas, Panapto, and Microsoft suites; bachelor’s in technical/business discipline; and knowledge of new and evolving technologies.  Job #22151-5

Salary range:  $55,000 - 65,000

There will be on-call and off-hour systems support for scheduled classes and unscheduled maintenance.
