Auburn University’s Samuel Ginn College of Engineering, Graduate Outreach Program department is excited to recruit candidates for a Video Production Engineer!
This professional position will be responsible for the design, implementation, instillation, and physical maintenance of video production equipment within the Graduate Outreach Program. The Video Production Engineer will communicate with different departments to ensure that the Graduate Outreach recording studios are working properly as well as ensuring video equipment is compatible with other classroom technology. The ideal candidate applies systems thinking, possesses superior interpersonal and communication skills, as well as being self-motivated.

Essential Functions
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Maintaining and updating all media production equipment inside of Audio/Video Control Rooms.
  • Providing training and ongoing technical assistance to faculty and staff regarding A/V systems and applications.
  • Consult with other departments concerning maintenance and operation of broadcast equipment for classroom recordings.
  • Researching advancements in technology and making recommendations based on needs and desires to leverage leading edge systems to advance strategic and operational goals.
  • Developing and supporting processes to support streaming, recording, and other A/V needs of classes, conference rooms, and events.
  • Coordinating with leadership to ensure that A/V projects meet scheduling, budget, scope, and quality targets.
  • Occasionally providing on-call support for designated systems and services.
  • Occasional and/or light lifting required 10-25 pounds with in-frequent lifting of 50-100 pounds, limited exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc., but none to the point of being disagreeable. May involve minor safety hazards where likely result would be cuts, bruises, etc.

Minimum Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree: No specific discipline. Degree in IT or related field preferred with 3 years experience in advanced audio visual systems, infrastructure, operating systems, and applications to include relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and systems.
Associate’s Degree: No specific discipline. Degree in IT or related field preferred with 7 years experience in advanced audio visual systems, infrastructure, operating systems, and applications to include relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and systems.
High School Diploma/GED: General Education with 11 years experience in advanced audio visual systems, infrastructure, operating systems, and applications to include relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and systems.

Minimum Technology Skills
  • Experience with video and audio recording systems
  • Experience with relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and systems.
  • Knowledge of audio/video lighting control
  • Experience with video and audio mixing equipment
  • Strong technical aptitude and computer skills.
  • Proficiency with professional computer systems and office applications.
  • Experience with professional video cameras
Minimum License and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Information Technology or related field
