Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
Description:
Join our marketing team, gain valuable multimedia storytelling experience, and enhance your video production skills. As a Video Production Intern, you’ll assist in filming, editing, and producing engaging video content for xFoundry@UMD. This internship provides hands-on experience with cameras, editing software, and the creative process behind video production.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in capturing high-quality video footage for various projects, including interviews, events, and promotional materials.
  • Edit and post-process video content using industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro) to assist in producing engaging and polished videos.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop creative concepts and storyboards for upcoming projects.
  • Assist in script development, including drafting video scripts, shot lists, and video outlines.
  • Assist in tasks such as color correction, audio enhancement, and video effects to enhance videos’ visual and auditory appeal.
  • Incorporate graphics, animations, and visual effects to enhance video content.
  • Ensure the proper care, organization, and maintenance of video equipment, including cameras, lighting, microphones, and accessories.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
  • Currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Film Production, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field at the University of Maryland.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
  • Basic knowledge of camera operation, composition, and framing.
  • Previous experience with video production, whether through coursework, personal projects, or internships, is a plus.
  • A passion for filmmaking, storytelling, and a desire to continuously improve your video production skills.
