Position Summary:       

YU’s Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks Center for Values and Leadership, Founded by Terri and Andrew Herenstein, (the “Center”) will -- in the spirit of Rabbi Sacks -- educate communal leaders, teachers, executives and authors in maximizing the timeless teachings of Judaism’s spirit, embodying our core Torah values and applying Jewish wisdom in addressing the challenges of our era, both within the Jewish community and beyond.

Position Responsibilities:

The position will entail responsibility for the following: 

  • Sacks Scholarships for students in a YU graduate program that reflects the ethos of the Center
  • Program to train high school teachers across the US on ways of integrating Rabbi Sacks’ thought into the classroom
  • A major summer conference on the future of the Jewish voice in the global moral conversation, featuring top writers and editors from across national and Jewish media
  • The Sacks Book Prize recognizing a future classic work of Jewish thought
  • Enhancing leadership courses across YU’s graduate schools, including the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary, the Bernard Revel Graduate School of Jewish Studies, the Wurzweiler School of Social Work, the Sy Syms School of Business, and others
  • Offering an internship stipend fund for students who obtain unpaid internships in fields relating to Rabbi Sacks’ work.

Experience & Educational Background:

  • PhD in a related field
