Position Summary
The Graduate School announces the opening of a Vice Provost Fellow beginning June 1, 2024. The Vice Provost Fellow’s duties include: 
 
  • Assist the Vice Provost and Dean in review of curriculum proposals. 
  • Assist departments with questions about curriculum approval process.  
  • Prepare UCGS (University Council of Graduate Studies) agendas.
  • Attend UCGS meetings.
  • Coordinate with the Provost’s office on required THEC notifications and forms related to new, revised, and closed programs. 
  • Assist departments with new program development. 
  • Assist the Vice Provost and Dean in setting dates and deadlines for the curriculum review season. 
  • Assist with developing a graduate curriculum approval process website.  
  • Attend meetings related to the curriculog system and curriculum development.

Minimum Position Qualifications
Candidates should provide a current curriculum vitae, references list, and cover letter explaining their interest in the position and how this experience will help them build experience in higher education administration.  Screening of applicants will begin on April 15 until April 29.
Special Conditions
The successful candidate will receive a summer stipend of $7,500 to assist with preparing for the curriculum season during the summer months and a one course teaching reduction during the fall semester (the graduate school will cover the cost of an adjunct instructor to cover the course). Curriculum approval runs from September through December. The candidate would also attend spring UCGS meetings and assist with any subcommittees.  Interested candidates should meet with their department chair to discuss the possibility of a teaching buyout prior to applying for the opportunity. 
The Fellow will report to the Vice Provost and Dean of the Graduate School.  Applicants must be current University of Memphis full-time faculty and have some experience with curriculum at either the graduate or undergraduate level.  Candidates must apply through posting at https://workforum.memphis.edu
