Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in art or design, business, education, or other related field from an accredited college or university
  • 10 years of experience in design education, business and leadership
  • 5 or more years of experience in corporate creative industry
  • Possess a substantive track record demonstrating success in leading, implementing and evaluating innovative and sustainable growth in continuing education programs and arts administration
  • Demonstrates strategic problem-solving in parallel with the ability to drive results-oriented execution
  • Demonstrated skills in planning, organizing, coordinating and directing multiple projects and activities with deadlines, sound judgment, and effective in implementing strategic agendas; ability to exercise confidentiality and discretion where necessary
  • Knowledge of business and technical fields as they relate to design and design education
  • Understanding of curriculum development, learning design, pedagogy
  • Understanding of the competitive executive education landscape
  • Familiarity with trends in higher education as they relate to commerce and emerging markets
  • Demonstrated experience in and a commitment to diversity; the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with various constituencies within ArtCenter’s diverse communities, internally and externally
  • Familiarity with a lean, agile approach to creating and standing up new ventures and platforms
  • Excellent management, interpersonal, leadership and administrative skills
  • Proficiency in standard office productivity software (e.g. Microsoft Office programs) and Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma or similar products
  • Demonstrated experience in and a commitment to diversity, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within ArtCenter’s diverse communities; students, alumni, donors, faculty, administrators and employers
  • Ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion and recognizes the confidential nature of ArtCenter business

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in design, education, business or other related field from an accredited college or university
  • Experience in Higher education
  • Portfolio of industry and individual contacts with interest in art and design
  • Proficiency in donor database/prospect tracking systems. Raiser’s Edge experience preferred

Essential Functions

Program Development and Execution — 90%

  • Plan, execute and supervise Executive Education programming including the development of program content and materials, analyze program mapping and demand; recommend improvements
  • Work collaboratively with SVP Development, VP Strategic Partnerships and Executive Director, Alum Network and Annual Giving, Executive Director Development Operations (“Development”) to deliver seamless interface and relationship management to target companies and executives, and to achieve corporate and alumni engagement, revenue and fundraising goals
  • Create a strategic business plan and proforma for ArtCenter’s Executive Education Program with the goal of increasing the number of offerings and annual revenue for the College
  • Oversee the development of marketing and sales outreach strategy; foster and maintain relationships with alumni and external clients to increase interest and participation in programs
  • Collaborate with Development staff on promotional events for corporations and alumni
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the College, educational, professional, international and community partners in the development and execution of Executive Education; represent the College on decisions related to such initiatives
  • Contribute to the efforts of the Development Department by introducing prospective corporate partners to the College
  • Partner with the College’s administrative leadership, as well as with Trustees
  • Oversee and manage designated budgets for Executive Education projects and initiatives, in collaboration with the President and Finance Offices
  • Work collaboratively with SVP Development, VP Strategic Partnerships and Executive Director, Alum Network and Annual Giving, Executive Director Development Operations (“Development”) to deliver proactive and seamless interface and relationship management to target companies and executives, and to achieve corporate and alumni engagement, revenue and fundraising goals
  • Partner with the Executive Director, Development Operations and representatives of the Marketing and Communications Department on marketing, branding and communication initiatives and positioning
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of information on all corporate, alumni and individual prospects using the College’s donor management system, Raiser’s Edge
  • Optimize resources to serve the distinctive elements of in-person, virtual and blended learning experiences, maximizing flexibility and relevant expertise.
  • Develop and maintain data and analytical systems to define and evaluate program success and track and comply with any reporting requirements and provide monthly status reports to the President

Marginal Functions — 10%

  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Serve on institutional committees
  • Maintain memberships and active involvement in applicable professional organizations

Mandatory Duty to Report

Physical Demands and Working Environment

This is a full-time position. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The position is eligible for flexible scheduling and can be performed remotely, hybrid or required as a condition of employment.  This position may require some weekend and evening hours.

Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office setting with frequent interruptions and distractions; extended periods of time viewing computer monitor; interactions with other individuals. Due to the nature of the work environment, there is regular exposure to fumes, chemicals, dust and noise.

Physical: The position is performed in an office setting. Employees stationary most of the time but may move around the office environment for brief periods of time. Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 10 pounds); to operate modern office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. International and Domestic travel by car and airline and overnight travel is required. Regular and consistent attendance are required for most positions. Able to work nights and weekends to attend events.

Vision: Must be able to have the visual capacity to perform activities such as preparing and reading reports, viewing a computer terminal and other normal office work with or without correction.

Hearing: Must be able to communicate effectively in the course of normal office communication or exchange ideas with or without correction.
