Position Details:

Summary of Duties:

The Vice Chancellor provides leadership and oversight for Admissions, Enrollment, Financial Aid, Disability Services, Student Life, Student Health, Community Engagement, Campus Scheduling, and Academic Support and Counseling Services.  The Vice Chancellor actively engages to lead efforts to support health equity, diversity and inclusion for health science students and collaborates with the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs in areas that impact faculty and staff.  

The Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs is responsible for leadership of a comprehensive student affairs division that supports graduate, professional, and undergraduate students who are headquartered in teaching and clinical sites across the state.

The Vice Chancellor is also the principal investigator and provides leadership to K-12 Education Outreach programs intended to strengthen the pipeline for STEM and first-generation, low-income and at-risk youth to have access to and be successful in higher education.

Required Qualifications:

Positions require a Master Degree in a related field and a minimum of eight (8) years of related professional experience in a complex organization, with preference given to experience in a higher education setting. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Additional Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in a relevant field (Leadership, Organizational Development, Student Affairs Administration, Education, etc.).
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in Student Services, such as admissions, enrollment management, student recruitment, student involvement, etc.
  • Demonstrated success leading and implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. 
  • Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working on/with an executive level team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Earned doctorate or equivalent degree in an appropriate field.
  • Working knowledge of student information systems and technology.
  • Experience with student records, data analysis and assessment.
  • Experience working in collaboration with academic programs.
