The goal of this position is to facilitate a deeper integration and collaboration between the Kansas City Veteran’s Affairs and the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • MD/DO or equivalent

Experience:

  • Faculty appointment at the Kansas City Veteran’s Affairs
  • Faculty appointment at the University of Kansas Medical Center
  • Experience in research and grants


Job Duties Outlined:

  • Better align leadership priorities between KUMC and KCVA
  • Increase research and operational funding as well as stability of clinical services through shared FTE between KCVA and KUMC
  • Expound opportunities for increased salary mechanisms, non-clinical funding, collaboration, and increase research funding
  • Focus on harmonizing leadership priorities through co-appointments
  • Increase amount of GME/OAA positions to meet the stakeholder priorities at both institutions
  • Facilitate project collaboration, MOU creation, and grant submissions to both VA and non-VA funders at both institutions
  • Additional duties as directed by leadership at both KUMC and KCVA
