Emory’s Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences is seeking a visionary leader to be our next Division Director for Interventional Radiology and Image-Guided Medicine. This leader will also serve in a newly created executive leadership role of Vice Chair for Imaging Intervention with oversight of procedural operations across the department. The Interventional Radiology division is currently comprised of 15 faculty and 20 advanced practice providers spanning seven sites across Emory Healthcare and Grady Health systems. A full service of practice encompasses trauma intervention, interventional oncology, hepatobiliary, transplant, genitourinary, and pain management domains.  Clinical sites are in the metro Atlanta area, an incredibly diverse, vibrant, and desirable community.

 

Emory Radiology is a leader in innovative training with highly acclaimed educational programs including 78 residents and 55 fellows. The IR training program is among the largest in the country encompassing multiple pathways. Our multidisciplinary research teams benefit from bridging academic programs including the joint Emory-Georgia Institute of Technology Biomedical Engineering Department and many other closely aligned entities. A new Winship cancer tower at Emory University Hospital Midtown, a new Health Sciences Research Building containing a state-of-the-art Center for Systems Imaging, and a large institutional investment by Emory in AI.Humanity add to the excitement and opportunity ahead.

 

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned and highly collaborative leader with excellent skills in communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and change management. Ability to manage complexity in a highly matrixed system and to execute strategically and tactically towards a vision are essential to success in this role. Strong desire to foster divisional excellence across all academic missions and to professionally develop faculty and staff is prerequisite.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must be fellowship trained in Interventional Radiology, certified by the American Board of Radiology, and be eligible to obtain an unrestricted Georgia medical license. Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience and accomplishments.
