Position Summary | The Veterinary Assistant class series uses three levels and describes assistant/support work in the field of veterinary medicine. Positions in this class should have an overall education in veterinary health and handling of a variety of domestic, exotic, and large animal species with emphasis on assisting the entire veterinary team. Positions perform tasks that are structured and designed to provide training and experience in the appropriate occupation. Tasks are performed under direct supervision and detailed instruction and guidance is received.
