Brief Position Overview
Come be a part of our new vet tech program. This position is a full-time, tenured faculty position for our new Veterinary Technician program. Anticipated start date is Fall 2024 ,but final decision will be made once a candidate is identified. This position performs instruction-related duties and responsibilities for the Division of Health Sciences and the Vet Tech program in accordance with the philosophy, mission, policies, and procedures of the college. Most instruction will occur using an online platform. There is a possibility of remote work but on-campus would be preferred. Labs and clinicals will occur using veterinary partners from across Montana. This position offers excellent benefits –medical, dental, and vision, retirement plans, and tuition assistance for yourself and depends to any Montana University System school.

Salary Salary range of $46,196 to $64,811 annually (9 month academic year), commensurate with education, experience, and placement on the salary structure set forth in the collective bargaining agreement. This position is eligible for recruitment stipend.

Position Details


General Statement
This position is a full-time, tenured faculty position for our new Veterinary Technician program. Anticipated start date is August 1, 2024, but final decision will be made once a candidate is identified. This will be an online program and faculty will need to create lectures and labs for students learning remotely and working with their local vet partners for hands on practice. Students will submit skill videos to faculty for assessment of proficiency. The program will begin the process of initial accreditation from the Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities under the American Veterinary Medical Association in May 2024.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop syllabi, courses, D2L shells, and assessment instruments for assigned courses.
  • Maintain current educational methodology concepts consistent with teaching assignments.
  • Attend faculty meetings, hold weekly office hours, and participate in program related events outside of teaching assignments.
  • Participate on college committees and in college activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and veterinary offices across the state.
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
  • Graduate of an AVMA accredited Veterinary Program or an AVMA CVTEA Veterinary Technician Program.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with computers.
  • Hold a current Montana veterinary license (if applicable) or veterinary technician license.

Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
  • Online teaching experience.
  • Teaching experience at a two-year or four-year college.
  • Experience in course development.

The Successful Candidate Will
Hold a current veterinary license (if applicable) or be a credentialed
veterinary technician licensed in Montana. And will have online teaching experience.
