Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit | The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy (www.pharmacy.unc.edu) is one of six health science schools (Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry, Social Work, Public Health, Medicine) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is one of the oldest health science academic programs at Chapel Hill. The School teaches approximately 600 PharmD students and 145 graduate students. The School has built a reputation for its continued pursuit of excellence, rigorous education and training programs, cutting-edge multidisciplinary research, progressive pharmacy practices, efficient business operations, and its outstanding faculty, staff, and students. The School was named the number one School of Pharmacy in the U.S. by the U.S. News and World Report. Position Summary | Eshelman Innovation Venture Studio, in collaboration with High Alpha Innovation and Mountain Area Health Education Center, is at the forefront of transforming healthcare through digital innovation. Our studio is dedicated to creating and nurturing startups that aim to revolutionize the healthcare sector. By joining us, you’ll be part of a dynamic team working on groundbreaking projects that have the potential to improve healthcare outcomes significantly. As a Venture Fellow, you will play a crucial role in the early stages of startup creation. This part-time internship is designed for individuals who are eager to learn and contribute to the fast-paced world of digital health startups. We value curiosity, collaboration, and a strong focus on producing tangible results. If you’re someone who thrives in an environment where learning on the fly is the norm and making a real impact is the goal, this opportunity is for you. Key Responsibilities: * Conducting primary and secondary research to gather valuable data and insights. * Analyzing research results to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges. * Testing assumptions through practical application and experimentation. * Collaborating with a diverse team to contribute to the development of startup ideas. * Participating in a one-week in-person session in Asheville with MAHEC, engaging directly with healthcare professionals. * Assisting in various aspects of the startup creation process under the guidance of leading experts. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements | Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
