The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Variable Hours Officer will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day clinical operations of the Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiology PET laboratory within the Cardiology Division.


Responsibilities

  • Triage all clinical inquiries and concerns from patients.
  • Provide educational support regarding various cardiac stress protocols.
  • Obtain and review lab results under the direction of the NP or MD.
  • Order medications and meticulously document clinical information in the electronic health record system.
  • Monitor the phlebotomy room and supplies, with timely ordering as necessary.
  • Perform basic procedure as requested by treating physicians, including administering IV medications and radio-isotopes.
  • Conduct EKG???s, monitoring blood pressure, and performing phlebotomy for designated patients.
  • Follow up on discharged patient phone calls.
  • Adhere to all applicable HIPAA and safety guidelines.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/BSN degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus four years of nursing experience.
  • BLS and ACLS certification required.
  • Must be a certified RN with a current NYS license.
  • Excellent customer service skills essential in a high-pressure environment.
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Four years of experience in cardiology or medical-surgical nursing.

Other Requirements

  • Participation in medical surveillance program
    • Contact with patients and/or human research subjects
    • Potential bloodborne pathogen exposure
