Job Summary
The Campus Store is seeking a part-time Computer Sales Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about technology, possess excellent communication skills, and have a strong understanding of computer hardware and software. As a Computer Sales Associate, you will be responsible for assisting customers in selecting and purchasing computers, peripherals, and related accessories. Your role will involve providing exceptional customer service, demonstrating product features, and explaining technical specifications in a clear and concise manner.

Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Assess customers’ needs and recommend appropriate computer systems, peripherals, and accessories to meet their requirements.
  • Demonstrate product features and functionality to customers, highlighting key benefits and advantages.
  • Explain technical specifications and terms in an understandable manner to customers with varying levels of technical knowledge.
  • Assist customers with product setup, including installing software, connecting peripherals, and configuring settings.
  • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Maintain a clean and organized sales floor, ensuring products are neatly displayed and easily accessible to customers.
  • Stay informed about the latest technology trends, product releases, and industry developments to provide knowledgeable assistance to customers.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets and contribute to the overall success of the department.
  • Uphold company policies and procedures regarding customer interactions, sales transactions, and product returns.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be a current University of Utah student.
Preferences
Previous retail sales experience, preferably in a technology or electronics environment.
Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively explain technical concepts to non-technical customers.
Customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
Proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer applications.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail and accuracy in processing sales transactions and handling customer inquiries.
Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and products.
