Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit

Position Summary
The primary purpose of this position includes but is not limited to:
  • Inspection of Incoming Materials
    • Supports the inspection of incoming materials and their release into manufacturing.
    • Works along with inventory management personnel (Research Associate) to properly segregate and control materials.
    • Executes incoming material testing as needed.
    • Follows up on materials in receipt and supports moving them through the inspection process to ensure materials are released on time and if roadblocks occur works out how to appropriately move items along or escalate to management.
    • Works with Research Associate to manage expired materials and complete appropriate documentation.
  • Management of Material Master Specifications
    • Ensures all materials purchased have a Material Master Specification
    • Works with QA to identify new vendors and materials and support the vendor management program.
  • Initiates and investigates Occurrences that occur during the material release process.
  • Works with Research Specialist to manage new inventory and complete Quality documentation.
  • Technical Writer and resource for policies, Standard Operating Procedures, forms, worksheets, and job aids in support of quality control material inspection and release.
  • Execution of Quality Control Testing:
    • Endotoxin
    • Mycoplasma
    • Flow Cytometry
    • And other testing as needed.
  • Knowledge of and ability to implement electronic inventory management.
  • Participate in 10 hours of continuing education annually in cellular therapy or quality topics.

Responsibilities may be modified or added as needed and discussed with the Assistant Director of QA/QC and/or Associate Director
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency and experience in Quality Control
