Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit

Position Summary
 Duties: Care will be provided in an outpatient care setting to healthy normal volunteer research participants and to those participants with unusual and distinctive medical problems. Activities will include providing direct, individualized care to adult (60%) and pediatric (40%) research participants, phlebotomy and IV insertion, administering investigational medications, performing ECG’s, collecting and processing specimens, data collection, providing direction and health teaching where applicable in relation to study protocol activities, reporting and recording care rendered, and reporting the patient’s response to that care. The candidate must be detail-oriented, flexible, ability to work independently and as well as part of a team and exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills. Must have current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CPR) or be able to obtain within 4 weeks of hire. Must be proficient in phlebotomy and/or IV insertion and have previous experience in this area within the past 18 months. Previous UNC Health, UNC Medical Center, Epic and/or clinical research experience preferred but not required. 
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina.

Must have current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CPR). Must be proficient in phlebotomy and/or IV insertion and have previous experience in this area within the past 12 months.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Previous UNC Health Care, Epic and clinical research experience preferred but not required.
