Summary of Duties:

Under close supervision, performs various unskilled manual work in the maintenance, repair, remodeling, and construction of buildings, facilities, utility and sewer systems, equipment, and grounds.


Required Qualifications - Utility Worker 1:

  • Physical strength to do required work AND six months of manual labor experience ; OR equivalent education/experience.

Required Qualifications - Utility Worker 2:

  • Physical strength to do required work AND two years of experience as a Utility Worker 1 OR equivalent education/experience.

Required Qualifications - Both:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Ability to perform heavy, indoor and outdoor work in all weather conditions; follow oral and written directions

  • Must have or be able to obtain at time of hire, a valid driver’s license.

  • Physical ability to perform moderate physical labor and the tasks assigned.

  • Excellent work attendance is required.

Monthly Salary:

Utility Worker 1: Range 30, $3,075.00 - $3,537.00 (Steps G - M)

Utility Worker 2: Range 33, $3,294.00 - $3,796.00 (Steps G - M)

Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28 .
