Job Summary:

Information Technology Solutions (ITS) is the in-house technology solutions provider for the Wisconsin School of Business (WSB). We are seeking a new team member who is motivated and enthusiastic to improve the security and support of our user endpoints. The ITS team is a small but growing group with dedicated and customer-friendly technology professionals. As a member of our team, you will leverage industry standard tools to manage, configure and deploy changes to WSB endpoints. A mixture of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and critical problem solving is needed in this role. This person will be responsible for assessing our current endpoint security maturity, defining and proposing changes and working collaboratively to implement improvements. This individual will be the primary person involved in prevention, detection, correction, and risk reduction over our user endpoints. Successful candidates will possess a security focused mindset, interest in developing deployment automation, a passion for process standardization and strong communication skills. This person will engage with faculty and staff to understand their needs and find solutions that create a more secure environment while also creating an amazing and simple to use user experience.
The primary responsibility of this position will be:
- Endpoint management for Windows and macOS
- Automated endpoint deployment and patching
- Maintaining computer deployment systems
- IT asset inventory management and reporting
- Monitoring, detecting and correcting security issues
- Endpoint hardening including encryption, authentication, OS and application patching, software library
- Configuration and troubleshooting
- Creating documentation for IT professionals and end users
Additional responsibilities of this position are to assist with the following:
- Server system administration
- Network and firewall administration
- Enterprise applications

Responsibilities:
Monitors, provides access, and analyzes threats to cyber security data and systems to ensure the safety and protection of information system assets under moderate supervision. Facilitates cybersecurity training.
  • 20% Monitors daily system operations using intrusion detection and prevention systems and assesses findings
  • 20% Reports application security concerns and escalates security incidents to senior staff
  • 20% Receives, processes, and implements security change requests including privilege access
  • 10% Conducts vulnerability-scanning analysis, tests security controls, documents the results of risk assessments, and suggests procedures to prevent future incidents
  • 10% Develops and modifies cybersecurity tools
  • 5% Facilitates security awareness training
  • 15% Assists in analysis, direction, implementation, and support of the desktop management software

Bachelor's Degree


Qualifications:

Required:
- 3 or more years of professional experience supporting computing technology.
Preferred:
- Experience managing endpoints with deployment and systems management tools (such as SCCM, Workspace ONE, Intune, Jamf, etc.)
- Knowledge of Active Directory Security Groups, OUs, DNS, and GPO management
- Experience with one or more scripting languages.
- Experience with installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Windows Server operating systems.
- Professional industry certification (CompTIA, Microsoft, etc.)


Work Type:

Full Time: 100%
This position can be onsite or partially remote. If partially remote, it is expected this person will be available to be onsite when circumstances require it.

Salary:

Minimum $80,000 ANNUAL (12 months)
