East Stroudsburg University is hiring an Upward Bound Advanced Mathematics Non-Credit Lecturer! Located in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, ESU’s proximity to New York City and Philadelphia provides convenient access to internships, careers and social activities. Just minutes from campus are the country’s largest water parks, scenic Delaware Water Gap Recreation Area, Appalachian Trail, and other opportunities for recreational fun.

Position Summary:
At East Stroudsburg University, this position is identified as Upward Bound Part Time Advanced Math Non-Credit Lecturer.  This position is grant-funded and is continually contingent upon grant funding.  This position is a six-week, part time, summer position only.  This position reports to the Upward Bound Program Director and will not lead to permanent university employment.
Essential Responsibilities:

  • Teach courses in high school level geometry, pre-calculus, and calculus.
  • Focusing on, but not limited to, identifying and solving different equations; solving linear, quadratic, and polynomial equations; using distance and midpoint formulas; graphing equations and using slope of a line to model real life problems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, or a Masters degree with college teaching experience.
  • Experience with East Stroudsburg University, its policies and procedures.
