Position Summary:

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a University Sanitarian for the department of Dining Services. This position's essential purpose is to establish, standardize, audit, and elevate the safe operation and sanitary conditions of foodservice operations within the University.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:

• Monitors and inspects to ensure foodservice facilities remain compliant with health, safety and environmental regulations set forth by local, county, state and federal agencies pertaining to food and foodservice.
• Coordinates and trains all foodservice personnel in the areas of food sanitation and occupational safety.
• Oversees activities of pest management and industrial cleaning firms that provide services to Dining facilities.
• Provides consultation, and training to student affairs organizations and departments in all areas related to foodservice activities at the University.

Minimum Education and Experience:

• Bachelor of Science degree with emphasis in Food Science, Food Microbiology, plus five years' experience in Food Service of public health environment.

• Must be able to access all areas of foodservice facilities to include, roofs, crawlspaces, walk in freezer/refrigeration units, mechanical rooms.
