Description of primary duties and responsibilities:
Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit:

The Division of University Advancement serves to connect external parties with opportunities to partner, support, and participate with Fayetteville State University and its programming. The division is responsible for all development and fundraising-related activities and the planning and organization of university programs. The division is organized to conduct the following functions: Major gifts solicitations, annual giving, planned to give, corporate and foundation giving, alumni relations, donor relations, capital campaign planning and implementation, processing and acknowledgment of gifts, career services activities, and donor research.
Primary Purpose of the Position:

This position supports the mission and goals of Fayetteville State University by ensuring the integrity and cultivation of relationships with our alumni. As a member of the University Advancement team, the Coordinator will be involved in a number of initiatives that enhance and significantly impact the students, alumni, donors, and employees at Fayetteville State University. Work is stated in terms of objectives requiring project planning and judgment. Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring creativity and originality.
Description of Work Continued:
Alumni Relations Functions-(50%):

Develop and build a comprehensive alumni engagement strategy and program.
Organizing and implementing milestones and other special events.
Develop outreach strategy and execute an annual plan for alumni outreach.
Work closely across college departments to build awareness of the alumni program, benefits, and opportunities.
Continuously seek to build new relationships with alumni.
Develop creative means for alumni to connect for support, mentorship, and employment opportunities.
Events Functions-(25%):

Manage and coordinate all cultivation and alumni fundraising events (from small dinners to large community-wide events).
Works with the Office of Alumni Affairs to invite donors and prospective donors to donor/ student/alumni gatherings.
Help solicit sponsorships and in-kind donations for all fundraising events.
Creatively cultivate prospects through a variety of interactions.
Provide administrative support for all event-based fundraising activities, including but not limited to creating RSVPs, solicitation, and invitation materials; tracking donations and registrations, event expenses, sponsorship benefits, and pledges; and providing post-event analyses.
General Expectations-(25%):

Due to the variety of tasks involved in this position, it is critical that this position works with a great deal of independence and sound judgment.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced yet lighthearted working environment is a necessity.
Perform support work as assigned, including special projects, special reports, responses to inquiries, etc.
Serve on committees and provide administrative support when necessary.
Engage in professional development.
Assume other administrative duties as assigned and Other duties as directed.
Minimum Education And Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Preferred Qualifications:
Non-profit or higher education administration experience.
Alumni and Donor Relations experience.
